Rana Al-Massi is a UAE-based visual artist with over 15 years of experience in the art field. She began her journey specializing in oil painting. Over time, her practice evolved beyond traditional painting as she began exploring mixed media, incorporating diverse materials into her works to create tactile, three-dimensional surfaces. Rana is known for transforming paintings into interactive experiences. She believes that art should move beyond flat surfaces and become something viewers can physically connect with. By integrating sculptural elements and layered textures, she creates artworks that invite the audience not only to observe but also to engage through touch, making each piece a sensory experience. In recent years, she has expanded her creative language by incorporating Arabic calligraphy and abstract into her work, blending text, texture, and realism in harmonious compositions. Her art often reflects UAE heritage, culture, and identity, combining traditional themes with contemporary mixed-media techniques.
