01 · The Brief
A long-running thread of high-end private commissions across Beijing and Shanghai — town residences, garden clubhouses, family compounds — where the brief is consistent but the architecture isn't: rooms that have to honour the family without performing for visitors.
02 · What we curated
SILU has supplied bespoke marble (carved fireplace surrounds, book-matched flooring), gilded plaster relief panels, custom carpets, decorative metalwork, and feature lighting across these residences over multiple seasons. Each project was specified as a quiet, room-by-room conversation rather than a single style move.
03 · The Detail
A study fireplace — Roman travertine, hand-carved by an Italian workshop SILU has worked with for years, shipped to Beijing in three crates and dry-laid in our own showroom before installation to confirm the seam. The seam line is the project's signature; the family's not.
